CAN I RETURN OR EXCHANGE AN ITEM?
We will never refuse to return an item in their original packaging within 30 days unless they have been specifically measured for you or made to your specific requirements. Most standard silver jewellery can be made and sent out within 2-5 days. However, during busier periods, such as school holidays, it is wise to give us as much notice possible if you require an item for a specific date. When you order, you will be given a provisional timescale for completeion. If there is likely to be a delay, we will notify you of this as soon as we become aware.
Once an order has been placed it will often be processed within a couple of days. As long as you cancel before we have posted your order, we are happy to cancel and refund the purchase price. If you decide to cancel after posting, then we will refund the price of the item, as soon as we receive it back, in original condition. In this case the postage costs for the return must be paid by you.
WHERE ARE THE CLASSES AND COURSES RUN? DO I COME TO THE SHOP FOR MY CLASS?
No, the Classes and Courses take place in our Workshop (TR13 9JS),which is on the opposite side of the harbour from our retail Shop (TR13 9FB). You can pay for the classes or Courses in the Shop, as there are no payment facilities available in the Workshop. We are happy to give you directions.
WHY DO YOU HAVE AN AGE RESTRICTION ON THE CLASSES AND COURSES?
Due to restrictions on our Insurances, we are unable to accept any child/young person, under the age of 14 into the Workshop. A young person between the ages of 14 and 16 can participate in the courses as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult. Our workshop is small, so no space for anyone to sit and watch!
WHAT IF MY ITEM DOESN'T ARRIVE?
Occasionally at peak times, items may take longer to arrive than anticipated. Should this be the case please contact us at and we will do our best to track it down. We can only do this with items that are sent by a trackable service. Items under the value of £20 cannot be tracked.
WHAT IF I HAVE ORDERED THE WRONG SIZE?
Some of our rings and bangles can be resized for a small charge. This service is available by contacting us. Some items are not resizable due to the stones used or the design. However, it could be possble that we could sell the item as stock. Please call or email for more detailed information.
I NEED MY ITEM NEEDED URGENTLY
If you need something urgently, please get in touch with us and let us know. We can then usually rush your order depending on which item you have chosen. If you are purchasing a gift voucher, we can email a copy instead of posting.
All items were the silver content is more than 7.8 grams will be hallmarked. Items under this weight are not required to be hallmarked by law but you can rest assured that where items are sold as sterling silver, they will be made from quality 925 sterling silver. Should you choose to have an item made in gold, this will be hallmarked but it may take up to 4 weeks unless it is already in stock.
SILVER TARNISHING OR TURNING MY SKIN BLACK
Silver can be affected by exposure to water, heat, chlorine, perfume etc. If this happens, please clean the item using a silver cloth. Some people use make-up with chemicals which may make silver turn black, particularly during hot weather, when the body perspires. Certain skin types are more acidic than others and that can have a similar effect. You can get rid of a discolouration of silver by dipping it in Silver Jewellery Dip or using a specific Anti Tarnish Silver Cloth. We stock Silver Cloths (£4.50 plus P&P) or Silver Dip Kit (£7.95 plus P&P) The kit includes a 50ml jar of dip with a 10x6cm cloth, brush and tweezers.
However the following information needs to be taken into consideration when using Silver Dip:
The jewellery will have to be rinsed thoroughly with clean water afterwards, or your jewellery could be marked by the residual chemicals.
'Dipping' is not advised if you have anything other than CLEAR stones in your jewellery, for example, Diamonds; Sapphires; Garnet; Tourmaline etc. The harsh chemicals will damage pearls, opals and in fact any OPAQUE stone, such as - but not limited to - Onyx; Lapis Lazuli; Turquoise; Coral etc. Contact us if you are unsure.
CAN I PURCHASE A GIFT VOUCHER?
Yes you can. You can choose a voucher with the amount of your choice in the voucher section. This voucher can be used in the shop, by purchasing in person or over the phone. Any amount left on the voucher after a purchase will be carried over to the next purchase. The voucher can be spent as part payment. The voucher can be put towards a commission. The voucher can also be used to pay for or put towards one of our classes or courses in our Workshop. You can also purchase an 'open' voucher to be spent in the shop, or a specific voucher, for example, 'Stacking Rings Class'.
